I just bought a new compressor and evaporator for my '94 turbo diesel. The guy at the parts house said that this system was notorious for what he called the black death. As I understand it it's black powdery build up inside the lines. Is this true or a farce? I was also told that the compressor design is of the poorest design.
As to the system I am doing the bolting and letting my mechanic do the vacuuming and recharge. I'm praying that I don't have to dump any more money into the A/C.
