I have P275/55/R20 Goodyear Eagles and run 40psi Cold. I only check and adjust them in the morning before they heat up in this Texas weather. If I perform this later in the day, my biggest fear is that they will spontaneously combust ...hehe

I have it at 55-60 and had tires balanced and did a realignment after the Daystar kit. Tires and alignment were both out but still has a little shimmy and will bring it back to the dealer next week. Something needs to get done with this problem by Ford.

Thumbs up

I left work and drove to the nearest gas station. Filled all four tires to 40lbs and drove 12 miles of interstate. I tried like hell, to get it to shimmy at 70mph,(like normal) it just would not do it. I am driving to the lake in the morning (90 mil.) of mostly interstate I guess that will be the real test. It looks like the road force balance and equal tire pressure might do the trick. Even with the shimmy its still rides better than any other truck I've owned...See Yall on Monday.....

I noticed the nibble a couple of weeks ago. At highway speeds 65 MPH and up. It would not happen all the time though. Anyway I had also heard a strange clunk from the front a few times when turning and another odd crunching sound about 4 times when turning into driveways. The front tires were also begining to cup. I took mine in for it 3,000 mile oil change and informed the service advisor about the steering and also about the hum from the rearend at 60 mph and above. They replaced all the rearend components, bearings, ring and pinion gears, etc. They also found that my front crossmember and stabilizer bar was loose. They adjusted and tightened the front end components, did a road force balance on all the wheels, rotated the tires, and did a 4 wheel alignment...

I did not think it was possible to have the truck handle any better, but now it does. The shimmy is gone and the rearend is silent. I am very happy...

I wonder if anyone else out there has loose suspension components?

My truck is at the dealers service department right now for the sterring nibble problem. I was just called and told that the problem has been fixed and what they did to fix it was a road force balance of all the tires.

Hopefully this fixes the problem. We'll see....

I lost my nibble!!!!!

On Tuesday they did the Road Force balancing and found that I had a bad tire. They told me that it shouldn't be above 23 lbs but the one tire was running at 45 lbs. Not air pressure but RF. They replaced one tire and balanced all the rest and it is as smooth as glass. The nibble seems to be gone. There is also a thread on here that talks about adjusting the steering rack pressure to help. If my nibble comes back I'm going to try this since now I know that the tires are right.

I seems to be gone. I drove about 15 to 20 miles home from the dealership this evening and didn't notice the nibble at all.

Well, looks like I spoke to soon. The nibble started again on the way to work this morning. I don't understand how this can just start back up after being fixed by the dealer last week.

I increased the air in my tires and the nibble pretty much went away. After about 500 miles with increased air, the nibble is back and worse.

I notice mine early in the morning when the truck has been sitting all night. It is very slight and the only way I can tell is to let go of the steering wheel. After the tires get warm, it goes away. It's prominent @70+ mph. BTW, I have the BFG 18" tires and wheels. I test drove an Expedition that had this problem very bad. The steering wheel would literally shake out of my hands and was very annoying. If mine gets this bad.....Houston, we've got a problem.

Dealer rotated the tires and rebalanced them. Problem solved.
