I drove my vehicle for 3 years with no trans. problems. I just rebuilt my engine and figured I would have the trans. rebuilt too. My FMX transmission was just rebuilt by a reputable shop.
When I got it back, It worked fine for a day. Then the shift pattern screwed up.
I took it back and was told the manual valve was out of place. They fixed it and I drove it home. Next day same thing. Back to the shop again.
Now they tell me the shift lever moves too far and pulls the manual valve out of place. They tell me they could fix it it by welding a tab in the trans to stop the manual valve from moving too far. Now I never had this problem until they rebuilt the trans. and the linkage was never removed from the column.
Does anyone know if this is possible or are they trying to get more money? I already paid them over $700.00.
Is a floor shift the way to go?
Sounds like they did something wrong if it worked fine before. I'd take it somewhere else and get another opinion and go back armed with imfomation and give them one last chance. If to no avail theres always your local J.P.
