Yup, we will be there. Taking my dad up there for Father's Day, meeting my brother and his wife who will be dropping down from Casper. We are camping at the Diamond Guest Ranch about 15 miles west of Chugwater. I buy a lot of the chili powder myself! Good stuff.
I'll be there if I'm not working! Every time I've been, it's been a good time. The Diamond ranch is where it was held the last time I went, is it still there?
I dont know Mark. I claim ignorance. I thought it was held in town. I was also told by my brother that the powers that be are allowing people to camp on the side of the road, wherever they can find space. I think I had better check into all this! I'll be there either way. I suspect we may have found out where the Wyoming wind originates....
We were there, and as you said, it was a blast! Even the rain held off Saturday long enough to get all the judging and prizes handed out. We sampled 39 red and 27 green! Our picks for the salsa and green won first places, and red came in 2nd! I have NEVER blown smoke in so many flavors!!!!
It was enough to take my mind off the damage to my 03 F150 from hail on Thursday here in Pueblo....Looks like a Spaulding (dimpled golf ball) F150 now.....I got hit 4 times with the hail, up to around golf ball size ! ! !
I know what you mean, got hit by softballs up here in 87. If you noticed the "fenced" areas south of the road to the Diamond Ranch from chug, thats were I work occasionally!
Yup, saw the "fenced" areas. I thought all of them had been deactivated.....
As for the hail, I was hit twice in Denver with baseball/softball size. I was lucky both times to be on the fringe. Two new roofs on house, sunroof and vent on van, and light damage to my Subaru wagon to the tune of around $800. The kids bike got beatup REAL bad as he was visiting a friend and they were in the middle of the worst! Neighborhood looked like a war zone.
