Whats the Rule of Thumb Limit?
Im not going to go stroker... Im just going to build a 428..I'll have to get another block from Dennis..I cant find one around here?
Dennis (DSC) has them starting @ .040 over...Whats the limit?
Cause I at least want to get one more build out of the block at those prices?
Sense Walters screwed up my other one..I'll buy another block and the Machine work will be free? So I was told? I'll have to get it in writing!!
Werent the 428s balanced at the flex plate or flywheel?
I guess they can done tho internally also..
And they did not knife edge my crank.. I saw it yesterday..
They said when they called..they ask me if I wanted it done?
But what the told me..is that they scewed up and did it..and would be No charge....I think they just sold my crank and gave me another 10/10?
Oh well..No more Biz for them after this project!! Russ

Russ, I think .040 is the limit, they don't have real thick walls. You could ask for a sonic check to see what the cyl walls are.
Yes 428's are externally balanced(weights on flywheel/flexplate and balancer), but they can be internally balanced especially if you use lighter rods and pistons.
Knife edging is really only a race type mod, you won't be turning enough rpm's to see any benefit from it.
