Coolant Question

I am about to change the coolant in my 01 psd and it has the green coolant. Is it alright to use prestone "green" antifreeze at a50/50 mix? I keep getting confused on this topic about coolants.
Thanks for any in put.

You can use the Green coolant, just add the coolant conditioner part FW-16 per the amounts in the manual. I think it takes 3 pints when changing coolant. You can also buy coolant test strips to test the coolant. If the strip says the coolant is still good you don't need to change it yet. But follow the manufacturers specs.

Do your water pump a favor and run only the low-silicate antifreeze. I believe Prestone's variety is in the black bottle and labeled "Heavy Duty".
