Dude , i"m sorry us dum calif.was thinking you wanted exh. , you want a muffler, if thats what your after any muff shop should be able to install it/or them. good luck TNT
I have heard that they are a fairly cheap soundin muffler, but supposed to be comparable to the flowmasters. the Z-77 class Ravin is really deep toned in a catback setup, heard one on a 318 dodge. go to http://www.goravin.com (i think) and listen to the 94 yukon, though this clip really don't do the muffler any justice.
You're catalytic converter just stays where it is, all you replace is the pipe(s) and muffler, most companys like flowmaster, magnaflow, dynomax etc. sell catback systems. You just cut it off about 6 inches from the converter and clamp the new pipe in place. any exaust shop can explain it better, or alot of the other guys here. Because I live in northern canada I can legally remove the cat and there are no emissions tests here. I hope this kinda helps.
ah, so basically putting the muffler closer to the cat?
yea i think its illegal to take of yoru cat here in houston, but theres so many ghetto emission testing places that'll let you pass anyway, just pay em you get a sticker. aaaah gotta love houston air, hehe i can SEE it
Can probly taste it too then eh? But cat back just replaces the exaust from the cat back, it could possibly be closer to the cat yes but most kits just use the stock hangers so it will probly be in the same location. just tell the shop you wanna have a new muffler installed, removing the cat will make it louder, but so far the deepest toned muffler I have heard with the cat installed was the Z-77 series Ravin. Otherwise anything I have to do with has glasspacks and true duals or is stock. so either excessivly loud or almost silent. I am not trying to push one muffler, If you like what you have then stick with it but it is fun to experiment with other brands because there are alot out there that have really good sound and everyone has thier own opinion on what sounds good. As for round or oval mufflers, you should get about the same sound, it is the difference in length that changes the sound of a muffler, short mufflers are louder than long ones.
just the fact that ive heard it called 'cat-back exhaust' so many times, i just sorta drilled it into my own head thats the catalytic converter played a major roll in it or sumthin.
