do people install them in the exhaust pipe right after the turbo or in one of the manifolds? If in the manifold how hard is it to do, do you have to drill and tap or is there a plug you can take out and install the sensor in? anyone have any pics??

I put mine right in the back conner of the drivers side manifold, right at the bend. If you go slow starting with small and working your way up with sharp drill bits, its really pretty easy. Then run the tap thru with a little grease on it. I then used a shop vac, held it up the the hole and had some one start the motor, and let it idle for a minute. If I had a digital camera I'd show you a picture, but I don't. I worried alot about it, Then I just did it and like I said it wasn't bad at all. Good luck

I was going to leave my mainifold on but as I had the time to take it off I went that way . Since mine was a 4X4 think I made it easier for me to do . all in all took like 4 or 5 hours , taking my time as i wanted to do it correctly. I got all my info from this great site and researched well before i started the project. I installed mine the same way as they did on the Banks truck on the show Trucks. All in all it was easy , the hardest part was taking of the fender skirt on the drivers side to get to the mainifold bolts.

Well hope this helps in some way

I didn't take the manifold off. I did as suggested with the ever increase bit size. I also greased the bit a little - The metal pieces stuck to the bit. I also did it with the truck running and any extra pieces came flying out of the hole.

Good idea while running, it will take the path of least resistance...air with chips that is.
