I was wondering if anybody out there knew if Ford stuck a 351W in a half ton pickup in this series of truck.. Wanting to know because I've ran the numbers on a block that was in the back of my truck and it was a Windsor block and thats why I want to know. Any help on this would be apprecieated in any section of this truck would be help (don't have anyone for help since March 12, 2004). I'm lookin for all the information i can get.
Thanks
Eric
I've got proof that they were produced(Block id# is C9OE-B) but wasn't sure about them in trucks. What was the most common engine in these trucks??? oh BTW the truck is a 1970 custom swb, it was set up for a standard, not sure if it was original, but a standard is going in....(would it possably be an FE motor or a 4.9).....

Reason: addin information
Engine Identification:
======================
351C/M/400 335 series: 8 bolts in rectangular valve covers. Timing chain housing is part of block. Thermostat housing on block. Exhaust bolt holes diagonal.
351M/400 335 series: intake is 10.7" wide the 351C is narrow.
351W/302/5.0L 6 bolts on trapezoidal valve covers. Thermostat housing on intake. Exhaust bolt holes horizontal.
429/460 385 series: 7 bolts in rectangular valve cover
352/360/390/427/428 FE series: Intake goes under valve covers.
There are other indicators but these may help.
Where can I look on the truck to find what was in the truck to begin with? Reason being because I've got a 351, ready for a complete rebuild(graduation present), but if I can find what was originally in the truck I'd go with that.
Okay, here it goes the entire plate contents, VIN:F10BRG74419, WB: 115, Color: M, Model: F-100, Body: 4B4, Trans: C, Axle: 09........GVW: 5000, Net H.P: 135, RPM: 3400, D.S.O: 72. Now if anybody'll help me make sence of it all i'd be really happy.
is that engine set up for a automatic or a standard. Also, do you have documentation of that 30,000, if you do, then i'm sure i've got a small block automatic in my parts selection, do you want c4 or c6??? plus I've got a few that need a rebuild
itz setup for a manual it still has the clutch and pressure plate on it. i wish i did have some doucuments but i do not. the truck i had it in kept breaking the firewall and so i pulled the motor and sold the truck for scrap. the motor came out of a 1985 f150 it is a complete motor from the fan to pressure plate. its ready to drop in and go. i rebuilt it about a year ago and only drove it for about 3 months then pulled it cause the firewall broke. im in desperate need of a transmission because my 71 f100 has a 4 speed toploader and i keep breaking the bellhousing. i might even have the transmission that was on the six. i just have to look around and see if i still got it.
