SCMT/Microtuners STACKED?
My other question is (depending on the answers to the above)
1. Would it be safe to run these in a high hp setting with water/alcohol injection?
2. Would you also have to up grade the injectors? (what is the max hp handling of stock injectorys?)
Thanks
I think all of us modders could benefit from this!
u would be much better off to spend the money on a set of high flow injectors, and do it right.
how is he getting the air in there to burn all that?
MORE $$$$$ THAN BRAINS!!!!
You can double stack tuners/boxes at full blast, without *destroying* the motor, however when you do this, you will only see a 35-50 HP gain over a single programmer/tuner, and some massively high EGT's. The EGT's can be lowered to a safe enough point to carry this out by using a water/alchohol injection kit, however to be safe the secondary power module needs to be custom tuned by a shop (www.dieselperformancespecialistsinc.com , www.tsdieselperformance.com ) to simply add fuel and NOT advance the injection timing, as doing both double stacked boxes and water/alky injection will advance the timing TOO FAR AND WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE. Almost all chips will advance the injector timing, and so will the alchohol which is neccessary to cool the engine to the point to withstand the double-stacking. The combination of two chips and the alky is just too much advance, and will bring on some serious detonation. Just get one of the custom chips programmed to add fuel without timing adjustments. However, chances are at this point you will be shoving more fuel through the engine than it can burn (even though I dont have numbers on the actual HP of the stock injectors, i can assure you that they will output far more than what the rest of the motor will handle, these are not 7.3's). This problem can be solved with nitrous or propane injection. (one or the other, for gods sakes not both
) At this point, however, you are really pushing the limits of the internal parts of the motor, and the transmission accordingly. I would most certainly put in a harsh shift kit and a new pump in the tranny to do all this, and dont be too surprised if something goes up in a rather large bang. The main issues with all of this is injection timing, exhaust gas temps, and the limits of the actual parts of the motor...you must factor all of these in the balance of what you plan to do, and you must balance them in a way they will work together...or something WILL get screwed up. And yes, your gonna have one fun time getting all of that stuff out of the truck if you blow it up and send it in for warranty work...

Also what is the motor running from the factory? (% of its ability, I have heard some really low #'s)
Because we are just GUYS we would love to know the numbers, however all we have heard.....................no factual info, we wish Ford would tell us...

I had a coworker aske me today if I had seen the ads for the Dodge. 600lbs torque. I told him, "So, I have that in mine now!" Predator!!
you probably have in the 710 ft-lb range and about 375+ HP....
Just wanted you to get your stories straight :-)
