I have a 76 F250 and a buddy has what he says is a 74 F150 he is giving me. I went to look at it to see if it is worth it but noticed the bodylines weren't the same. The title says its a 74 but there are no VIN numbers anywhere on the truck. The truck is stripped down for a rebuild that was never finished. The body lines on mine are indented but on his they stick out. I believe the body to be a pre '73. I really haven't payed attention to the pre '73's. Where else could I look other than the door and dash for the VIN?
Sounds like its a 67-72. What did the grill look like? I believe on those there is a VIN stamped underneath the cab on the passenger side(someone help me if I'm wrong). Goodluck!
Lets see 67-72 door handles have push buttons, hood hinges on the inside of fender wells, taigate handle pulls to the side instead of up they share windshields thats about all on the body vin number should be stamped on drivers side frame rail under hood right behind core support that's the public # should also be a number on frame under cab & under bed over the rear end these are usally known as confidential #s these are the ones the cops use when trying to ID theft trucks.

Look at the frame rail on the right side in the engine compartment. The official VIN is stamped into the frame rail. Also, you don't say what the body style is (if any). I mention that only because IF it was an "incomplete vehicle" which the VIN will tell you, the title year will be the year of the completed vehicle certification even though the chassis year model may be a couple years older.
