New 2003 with a ?

Ok I have a 2003 v10 SD 2 wheel drive 430 gears with a six speed manual. The truck has 60 miles on it its brand new. I got a good deal off the lot because it was a 2003 and they wanted it gone. Anyways the stick on the six speed shakes alot this could be normal something im just not used to ??? Also when I let the clutch out i hear loud noise as if the the throw out bearing is going out. Again this could be normal the truck is brand new with barley any miles on it. Just want to get your opions from the guys tyhat have this same truck and have felt this or not.

Also did I make a bad choice by not getting the 4x4. I live in the bay area ca and I think i will be content with the 2x4. Thanks for any help here

I have noticed some shaking of the stick,, when my 04' V-10, 6 speed, is ideling,so unfortunately I hear it is sorta normal,,I think it should be smooth as silk myself !! That throw-out bearing noise is not normal,,sometimes you can hear the tranny whine when its cool, but mostly mine is quite.,,,Good luck,,,,,later,,,,,,,,,,Mark

I also live in Nor Cal and work in San Jose, I traded in a 4x4 Explorer for a 2002 SD 2WD. I only used 4 Wheel drive twice in the whole time I had my Explorer. I don't miss it at all, unless you are planning using the truck offroad I don't think you'll notice.

Good to hear that theres another in the bay area. Yeah I dont think I will be missing the 4x4 that much either. Just for the snow deal during the winter taking the faimly. Got to put on the ol chains So I went to the dealer and had them check on the thorw out bearing and they say all is normal the tech told me I got a great deal and the truck is in brand new shape. 60 miles it better be all good.

I wouldnt worry about not getting the 4X4. I take my truck off-roading quite often and I very rarely put it in 4 wheel drive. If you go on average and some difficult trails you really dont need it. Unless you really do some serious off-roading, you'll be fine.

I use my 4x4 all the time but reguardless of that the 4x4 just looks better. And its there if you need it. Always have and always will drive a 4x4.

You might want to consider a locker if you do any kind of mild - moderate off-roading, our trucks are really heavy, and coupled with no traction up front you'll be surprised where you get stuck sometimes. From what I've seen the locker will help tremendously, it won't do miracles but it really helps.
