Passenger door rattles. When sitting still it lines up with the body, (sits flush) but I can push it in by 1/4-3/8 inch and pull it out beyond the body about the same. Can't see a way of adjusting the pin in the frame, or any way of moving the latch around...
exactly, the plastic can wear and allow play. To adjust the pin, you can loosen with a torx wrench. If it has play both ways, that adjustment won't help much
if there is no plastic that is the problem, i had the plastic cover break completly off of my bolt, making it all metal and it rattled like an SOB, i thought the door was gonna fall off when i'd hit a bump too hard at 65. anyhow, got to Napa and get a new door striker post bolt.
I've got the same problem.I thought that it was due to worn door hinges, but I guess that it's alot simpler than that .Gotta get me some of those door strikers sometime soon...
Now if I could just get that fender and hood aligned ...
Adjusting the striker is definately the easiest route to stopping the rattles, but changing those worn out door seals really stops the rattles and the wind! Whitney has the door seals (weather stripping) and they are fairly cheap ~$30 ea. I changed mine and I'm glad I did it. even restored my door alignment
