Just an idea, has any body ever thought of puting a early bronco body on a fullsize chasis/drivrtrain? Would there be a lot of work in doing this? If this has been done and you have a picture could you post it.
Doing it right now....
I know of one other that is in the bay area of Kalif. and I am trying to get pics.
I will shorten WB of a 79 to 100"; end up with Hi pinion 44 full width with discs, 760 u joints, PS, Power brakes, HD housing full width 9", 31 spline large brakes, 205 TC, etc.
If you could get some pictures that would be awesome. I think it would look cool with fullsize axes and a longer wheel base. please keep me updated.
Thanks
-Phil
There are a lot of EBs out there with full size axles and stretched wheelbases, I just thought I would take a shortcut...
I will post pics when I get 'em. Headed back to Iraq for 8-12 months later this summer, so probably won't get it complete before I leave. Hope to be on the trails in this rig by summer 05 when I get back.
Which frame are you going to use? THere is a BIG difference in the width. More than whats worth the trouble to adapt...Now axle swaps... thats an easy swap. A little lift, fender flares, some really big tires,....ahhhhhhhhh....mud heaven...
Currently I'm actually widening an early bronco frame- that way it will fit the contours of the original body- was afraid that there would be massive frame mismatch and that looks terrible.
