the brain

may sound stupid where exactly is the brain, thought it was under the radio, gold color, square. Problem is, swapped a 302 for an inline six on my 89 f-150, switched what i though was the brain, truck didnt run right, messed around put the other brain in still ran the same, unplugged it and the truck still ran.
thought they couldnt run without the brain. so i figure i must be changing the wrong thing

Do you mean the computer? If so look behind your drivers side kick panel.

i'm having the same problem finding the computer on my 94 250. it isn't behind the kick panel, there is a gold colored box behind the glove box is that it? I'm taking a 460 out of a 94 f-250 and puting it into a 94 150, used to have a six in it. Nothing behind the kick panel, is there anywhere else that they put them?

thanks,
Brian.

It is behind the drivers side kick panel. I think you access them on the newer trucks from under the hood - look down along the firewall on the drivers side near the fender.
