Hi guys recently I had update my F150, 1986 with an E4OD tranny, it is working very nice but I'm having hard shifting while tranny get normal temp.
If tranny temp is lower than 150°f it shift normal, but when tranny gets about 170° sometimes shift hard. When it was initially tested, hard shift problem appears 70% of shifting, right now (After 5K miles) hard shift was reduced to 30 - 35% times.
I had checked al wiring and computer program, I had dissable Temp sensor at tranny, verify MLPS and nothing different. A friend tool me my tranny needs Dexron III oil and I'm using Dexron II.
Do you think this problem could be caused by oil type? I got this Tranny from a Ford dealer at very low price because it was upgrade to 1995 mods...
