I was driving home from work last night and as I was pulling onto our street my engine just died. I put it in park and it fired right back up. Any ideas to what would cause this? I have an 87 Bronco with a 302.
The engine has 152,000 miles. I was able to make it home because it died when I pulled onto my street. So, I only had to drive about a block to make it. I have worked on it some in the last month. Last week I changed the distributor cap and rotor. The spark plugs were changed about three months ago, and I changed the water pump, heater core, and high pressure power steering line a few weeks ago. The only other modification I have is I have a K & N air filter.
A recent problem that I have had with it while driving is that it is lacking power while driving. It makes the truck surge some. I changed the plug wires yesterday because the last time this happened it was the plugs. I am about to take it for a drive, so I will see how it does.
