Depends a lot on how you drive and where you live.
Mine was a 86 6.9 4 speed with 3.55's in the axles.
I ran mine hard, hauled a lot, towed even more and live in the WV mountains.
Mine was also a 4x4, had a dump bed on it and a snow plow so it was heavy 7860 pounds empty.
My yearly averages were close to 10 for the 7 years I kept close records.
But that was drawn down considerably by snow plowing at 4 MPG.
I have a 86 F250, 6.9 with a Banks turbo 2wd auto, 3.55dr. My average is 15.6m/g, with mostly freeway miles. I,ve got my best when I keep the speed at 55 miles (16.7 m/g)
Actually, I really don't drive all that fast. My average speed is about 45 to 55 mph, since the MP's are pretty hard on speeding, and I just drive it to work and back. I don't like rompin on it since I want it to last. I did an oil change on it when I first got it, but haven't had a chance to do much else yet. It's due up in a couple of weeks for another oil change though. I was hoping someone might know something that might help with the mileage though
