thanks-any ideas about the rubbing/screeching sound coming from the steering column?

I just had my 2003 escape in a couple months ago for the coolant light staying on. At first it was on intermittently, then it just stayed on. I took it in and they fixed it, said there has been a problem with air getting in the line and they have to flush the air out and refill correctly. My escape was no longer under warrenty, but because this was a problem I was told they have seen often, I was not charged. Could be your problem- Hope it helps.

Where do I find the plug for the sensor? I've been ignoring mine for almost 100,000 miles

The connector is on the bottom of the tank. Remove one bolt holding the tank on and you should be able to get to it.
