No offense or anything... but why would you wanna lower one of these bad boys? But that aside.... i would assume you do it like anything else. Either buy shorter springs or take a torch to em for the front. Same idea for the back leafs. BUT, i saw on the show Trucks on Spike TV the guy did an s/10 drop. He never gave any prices but he took out the entire rear suspension and turned it into a three-link with air bags. put air on the front too but i dont remember exactly what he did.
So to sum it up,
#1. think twice about dropping this thing... its an awesome off-roader and looks good with some lift.
#2. If you do decide to go thru with it... it all depends on how much money and time you have for it, and the quality of the job you want. Cuz if you are poor, you can torch your springs and drop it. It will have majorly bad camber but you can adjust that out to a point, and theres no telling how the ride would be and how long it would last. If you have a ton of money to throw around, buy an awesome kit like the one i mentioned. Itll be expensive and tougher to do, but i guarantee it would be worth it.
Im with CherryColaholic-Why lower it? But if you must, Drop axles in front, put the springs on the bottom of the axle in the rear turn over the spring shackal {spelling} air bags all 4 conors and on the gound it goes.Check with someone that has a lowered Gen 1or2 Ranger its is the same. Good luck!
hey thats cool man you like what you like and yes i have seen many lowered Bronco II's and they can be slamed to the ground. this one aint lowered but check it out. as soon as i find the lowered ones i will post them.
that bronco is awesome. That is the vision i had for mine. it happens to be the same color too! I am going to paint ghost flames on mine though.Thanx for the reply.
hey man I got a 88 2wd B2 that's pretty low. I don't have a digital camera so it's not on my computer. What I did was kind of crazy because I didnt feel like paying $500 for some dropped I-beams. What you do is flip the balljoints in the front (which is a lot of work) and I cut 2 coils off my springs so it lowered the front like 5" and I just mono-leafed the leaf springs ( which is taking all the leafs out of the leaf spring except for the main one and that will lower it like 5 1/2". Your frame will be on your axle it will be a rough ride. You could then step notch it and buy a Ford Ranger flip kit for like $60 and lower it 4 more inches. Oh you also have to adjust you front camber adjusters so your wheels don't bow in. Mine right now is lower than any of those other B2's on here. But I'm about to jack mine back up and put a 6" lift on it and some 33" tires.if you have any questions about lowering it just email me at jesssed@hotmail.com.
