extra tank

being new to the diesel, I am wondering what problems come up with adding another fuel tank in the truck bed, maybe a 60 gallon size, can the diesel cause problems if not used for awhile. most of the time the tank will remain empty. The wife haul show horses up and down the west coast Oregon, Nevada, Arizona mostly at night and stations and diesel are rare. Any info will be helpful. Have a l00 gallon tank on a 88, 350 with the 460 and it goes fast, so trying the diesel now. Thank you

It would be a good idea to install an in-line fuel/water seperator only for the new tank. Allow the factory water sperator to remain in place under the engine compartment for double protection. Also keep the tank full all the time so there is no room for codensation. I recommend using "STANADYNE DIESEL FUEL STABILIZER" if it is to be stored more than 3 months. Diesel fuel is an oil, that is why it lasts so much longer the gasoline. So you can leave the tank full when it is not in use.
