If you push down on each corner of the truck and release, does it come right up or does it kinda bob (bobbing is bad). Also, if the truck feels sloppy driving, it's most likely needing new shocks. Look at the shocks itself and see if there is an oil leak.
If you off road moderately or often, I suggest Rancho's or Blistens. If your like me (suburban cowboy) go with Monroe Sensitracs (or any big name with a lifetime warranty). I personally went with Rancho 5000's for my SuperCrew (they were on sale at the time).
Do a search on this site, and you'll put another 109K on your truck before you decide what to buy.
if your truck has the original shocks, then your odometer is a good way to tell that your shocks are worn out i.e. 109,000 miles. Driving a truck with worn shocks is hard to notice since they wear out so gradually. But when you get the new ones on, you'll notice an immediate and significant improvement.
agree with the other post, rancho and bilsten are good choices for a 4x4. i only have a 2 wd and only drive on surfaced roads so my replacement shocks are ordinary monroes.
