I have brought my truck into my dealership 4 times with problems with the AC. There are TSB's out there for defective o rings on the condenser which were replaced on my 1st service trip. 2nd,3rd trips they said I had air in my lines and they purged/recharged my ac...same problem. I brought in my truck this morning and made them drive around town with me and a digital therm in my vent and I was getting 50.9 - 62.0 with an ambient temp of 79 in my truck with a huge 70.1 right when we drove back into the dealership (apparently my compressor shut down for an extended period) so I made them get a 04 F150 FX4 exactly like mine and we drove around and I got a range of 41.9 to 48.3 with an ambient of 80. They finally acknowledged that there must be something wrong and now I'm back to no truck. Fun stuff. My advice is go buy a digital therm and start keeping detailed temp ranges w/various ambients and show up with a detailed report. Good luck!!

The A/C on mine is the same. It blows cool air, not COLD air. I even had the A/C on MAX and it still wasn't cold. The temp outside at the time was around 75 - 80 degrees. I would hate to see what it's like when the temp gets to 90 or so. I guess this is something else that I'm going to have to have them fix. (I need to have the reprogramming done as well, but my dealership says they haven't heard of a new program.)

It reached 101 here today. My a/c did'nt make the grade. Even on the freeway at 65-70 the a/c did'nt keep-up with the heat.

Interesting. We've been hitting 105* here in Tucson and the AC is kicking butt. There has to be a problem and you need to take it in.

Listened to your advice. Took truck into Ford this morning and just got it back. They discovered a gasket improperly installed. The compressor not coming on with low pressure on high and low. Replaced o-rings recharged and checked. Now, AC is kicking butt. Thanks.

Angry

Yeah well my entire passenger floorboard is soaking wet from an A/C condensation leak and now my A/C is constantly making a hissing sound inside the cab... When I take it in Monday, it will be my truck's 4th time in the shop.

Have an FX4 and mine is doing the same thing cool but not cold. I live in Utah and we have had 90 degree days here for a while and I just can't seem to get cooled down while driving for any period of time. I will have to take it in to see if something is wrong. Oh yeah, has anyone noticed that the air vents get blocked by the steering wheel so when you really need them directed on your face you can't position them correctly, the back of the steering wheel gets cool though! Glad to hear it isn't just me.
