Three month report

Well I have had my 04 SC F150 STX 4x4 with the 4.6 for three months now. I have just turned 5,000 miles. I am getting high 16s and low 17 for mixed highway (80%) and city (20%). I guess that as good as it is going to get. I have towed several times, both a two place and four place snowmobile trailer. This truck tows very nicely and it is very easy to drive well over the speed limit by accident.

Wind noise is a little louder than when I first got it but still pretty quiet. There is a little hesitation when you stomp on the peddle.....don't care for that to much but the transmission does shift nicely. I have hauled a bed full of oak firewood a couple of times. The wood was heaped over the top of the bed rails, but what really surprised me is that it didn't squatt (sp) the truck at all. The truck drives very nicely.

I have been trying to figure out what these posts about the vibration are about. I am actually a bit paranoid abouit it and sometimes think that it may be doing it then I go to work and drive a chebby 2500 and realize that my truck is so much smoother.

All in all I love the truck and haven't really found to many flaws with it. I always wish it had more power and got better mileage...but what the hell....next thing I would be wishing for is it to run on water....Anyway just wanted to give you guys an update.

16/17 mpg for a supercab 4.6 4x4 in real world driving seems like excellent mpg to me. good luck with your new truck.
