hey, i baught a 94 bronco wth a 302. i cant get the 4x4 shift lever to shift into 4-low. on the **** it says to push down, it wont push down. does the whole shifter supposed to push down or just the top ****. any suggestions??
You have to push the stick to the side then pull it towords you to reach 4lo. Does your t-case stick move to the side at all?
Mine will only reach 4hi. I can't move the stick any further then between 2hi and 4hi. And the t-case fill plug is stripped. 4hi works fine though. So sense I don't really need 4lo, I'm just going to use it until it breaks and deside what to do then.
the truck has to be in park or nuetral with no weight on the tranny/xfer case. pull lever towards 4 low. your "supposed" to push the stick to left and pull back into 4 low. it does take a little effort sometimes.
Mary_kate, i'm surprised you don't use 4L up there with all that snow and those "hills" in the winter. Down here you need it for the beach if you don't want to defalte your tires.
it says to push down on the ****, but i will try to push it to the side to see if it will go into 4 low. i dont think the 4 low was ever used. there was only 2 owners me being the 3rd. the linkage may be stuck, i sprayed it with lube and let it sit but still wont budge. the bronco is in neutral. has anybody ever herd about the linkage being stuck from not being used?
Mine was frozen when I bought the truck. I had to disassemble the entire thing and clean everything with a wire brush, there was a small rubber bushing in there that I had to replace and reassemble with plenty of grease.
