I need a little advice here. I'm going to be helping a friend change his oil this weekend over at his house. Problem is I don't want to drag all of my tools over there. Can anyone advise me as to what I should bring, besides the standard equipment? I'm in London England so please pardon my ignorance, this Escape is the only 04' I've seen thus far. Oh, and it's an 04' Escape, 4.6L.
10mm to remove the front splash shield for access to the filter
15mm to open the oil pan drain
small filter wrench
5.5 qts oil (US measurement)
new filter & keep the box that the filter comes in to make a trough for the oil from the old filter to run in so it doesn't get on the oxygen sensor or exhaust.
I strongly suggest a new cabin air filter also!
First off, thanks Doc for your assistance you got the point of what I was asking. Bananaboat, like I said it isn't mine and I don't know too much about the Escape so I made an honest mistake.
Heres a very handy little gadget that I have installed on all my new cars at their first oil change for the past 20 years. Just flip the lever & out pours a nice steady stream of oil. www.fumotovalve.com
