You don't need to take apart the FPR screen to clean it. It's at the top right inside the fuel bowl as you face the engine. I also don't think that the 1999 and newer trucks have a return fuel line????? Wasn't that the cause of the infamous "cackle" issue?

Did you check all the way in the opening? The screen isn't on the surface. Yes, the newer PSDs should have a screen. My parents have a 2001 and there's has one.

Definately replace it. There is a good article HERE about replacing the fuel screen.

still need help on this iam still only getting 13 mpg on 2000 7.3 psd keeping rpm below 2000 and thier is no screen ( had the whole ssembly apart and cleaned could see clearly trhough it from inside fuel filter/water seperator to the outside of filter housing no screen ) in the fuel return line on fuel filter/water seperator everthing is factory yet in including intake and exhaust no mods except 3 piller guage boost tranny temp and egt are all running normal and air filter is clean.

i read a thread were a bad cmp sensor could give poor gas mpg any thought on that also is this 13 mpg normal for a stock 7.3 ? and doi need to do mods like intake and exhaust , chip to get my mpg up to 17/18 mpg any thought on this would be much apreacheated this is my first desiel and i not sure what to expect for mpg but thought it would be better than 13
oh i i do fillup at a truck stop where thier is a large turn around on fuel
so for long post
