Which would be a stronger back end, then 8.8 or the 9.75? I really dont know much about differentials/axles, so I'm just curious. I'm pretty sure I have the 9.75 in the back of my truck, just from looking at pictures... if anyone has a sure fire way to know exactly what rear and front end I have, without taking anything apart, let me know.

It's a 2003 F150 Supercrew with the auto tranny and the 5.4L engine. 4x4. It came with 265/70/17 tires if that matters. Supposed to have the tow package as well, but I'm not really sure how to check that except that I do have 3 radiators up front, one of which appears to be a tranny cooler, which I hear is one of the things you get with the tow package.

There should be a tag on the back cover of the diff.

The 9.75 is stronger but aftermarket lockers, gears, and limited slips are a little more expensive.
