just finished a front brake job on my 94' f-250 4x4 ,turned rotors
and new pads. Afterwards i have a loud rythmic klunking from the front axle.
made sure it is out of 4 wheel drive, rechecked bearings, checked rotors
for parallelism and run out but sounds like a bearing or u-joint to me...
any ideas. The thing drove fine before brake job.

Bearings looked and rolled fine and repaked with grease.what pins and slides are you talking about? bearing nuts are tight, no play in wheel, lock washer is in place.
If you reinstalled auto hubs after the brake job, it is possible that the noise is hub related. Hub noise would be present even when you are not on the brakes. It is more noticable when you are going slow and turning.
My hubs started making noise shortly after a brake job. It took a while to isolate the noise down to the hubs because I was just about positive that there was a bearing problem.
You should be able to pin the noise down by lifting a wheel off the ground and spinning it manually. Bearing or brake problems should show up right away. Since you notice the problem in 2WD, the front axle would not be rotating and the front U-joints would not make noise even if they were worn out.
