Pesky PO401 code

I tried everything...new EGR, DPFE, and spraying liberal amounts of carb cleaner into every hose and hole I could find with no luck. I then read that the ports that the EGR attaches to can be the culprit sooooo...
A brief explanation and pics.

Hope this helps if you run across the same problem.

Rick

I didn't solve the entire problem above but this fixed it. I had a cracked EGR purge canister. It wasn't allowing pressure to build in the EGR valve thus throwing the code. The purge canister is located inside the passenger side fenderwell and can be removed by taking out the liner in the well. So now I have a completely new emissions sensor system.

Good info...I've never heard of anybody having a problem with the canister.

Glad to hear everything is fixed.
