Has anyone used the Bedrug with a soft tonneau roll-up cover? I'm thinking of getting an Access cover and a bedrug. I picked up my 04' Lariat Screw last week.....
I have the Access cover and frankly wouldn't recommend it if you're bothered by noise. The cover flaps like a flag and beats against the aluminum bars. The Access people have helped out in any way they can but that cover noise drives me crazy in my otherwise quiet truck. IMO the noise is a real problem though I like everything else about the cover. Maybe if the poles were wood instead of aluminum? I'm thinking about trying that.
I put a Truxedo Lo-Pro cover on my '04 flairside and I love it. This is the best soft tonneau out there. It's about $440 installed but well worth the price and when you lock the tailgate the tonneau cannot be opened.
I have the Access roll up cover and just recenlty put in a Bedrug. Since I do not routinely carry heavy/consturction type loads I love the combo. Main cargo for us is camping gear and misc home improvement stuff like doors etc. The bedrug makes it easy on the knees and the roll up cover makes it easy to carry a higher load such as a big box.
I have not had any noise problem from the Access cover.
Thanks for all the input. I've gone ahead and ordered an Access cover and Bedrug. Another question....do I still need a tailgate sealkit with a Bedrug or does that cover all the openings between the tailgate and the box? If so, what do I install first?
The Bedrug covers the gap between the bed and the tailgate. The bottom section of the bedrug is one continuous piec from the front of the bed to the end (inside top edge when closed). The Access cover seals pretty well on the tailgaite. I have not had any leaks to speak of and have driven through a couple of real heavy East Coast Spring time thunderstorms.
