Has anyone ever been to Macon and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 1st street? Well me and my family went down Sunday nite to see some historic houses that I wanted to see. Well, to say the least I was really surprised at what I walked into. I'm a redneck country girl born and raised. Well you could definatly tell that when I walked into this hotel. The lady at the front desk gave me a funny look when I walked in. I thought it was because I was a little woman driving a big truck, but boy was I wrong. After I parked the truck and we walked into the side entrance I found out why!!!! There were 3 huge gorgeous candeliers hanging down. Then we walked around the corner and there was a restaraunt and a lounge. The next thing we see is all these beautiful tropical flowers and trees with fountains and streams in the middle. When we get to the room we find out we have an exercise room, sauna and a pool to enjoy. They also had valet parking but ain't nobody driving my truck but me!! Of course I had to check out the lounge. For $7.50 I got one Strawberry daiquiri! Little too expensive for my taste. You talk about a woman feeling out of place....." Toto we're not in Kansas anymore!" What made it so wonderful on top of all that........ it was only $70 a nite!!!!!!!! But don't take a big truck like mine up on the upper level of the parking deck. VERY LOW CLEARANCE!!!!! I missed the top like 6 inches. Too close for comfort!! Just wondering if any one else has lucked up on something like this.
I'm done raveing now. Just had to get that off my chest.

 

F-350 woman I live 30 miles south of Macon I dont need to stay in no Hotal there.LOL Yea Ive heard its a real nice place to stay ,Im glad you enjoyed your visit to the Flag City.Just let me Know the next time your down this way and will get-together and have a cup!!

 

Gray Ranger, I plan on coming down June 12th for the GA Peach Festival. I want to get into that giant peach cobbler they are making for it. I'll let you know for sure one day next week of my plans.
