BAD VIBRATION

Whenever i shift from 3rd to 4th in my '89 7.3L the front end starts vibrating so bad i have to pull over and come to a complete stop then go again, but i can not get out of 3rd. it feels as though the tires are wobbling back and forth. i checked all the ball joints and everything in the front end is tight. all tie rods have been replaced except for the long one goin from both tires. need help bad, thanks

BAD VIBRATION

Hi, it is probably a tire whether a seperation or out of balance My truck threw a weight and picked up a really bad shimmie. you should be able to feel a seperation by running your hand slowly around the tire on the tread surface if you feel a lump it is probably a seperation. John

BAD VIBRATION

I dought there is any kind of problem simply because of 4th gear, but still I would look at that more closely, like shifting into 4th at a higher or lower speed than you usually do. Thats just a thought.

When you go back to bigger tires, ask the tire shop about "EQUAL". It's a special sand product that is used in over-the-road 18- wheelers, to keep the tires ballanced. It is put into the tire loose, and at about 5mph locates itself in the light spots to do the job,so your tires are rebalanced every time you start up. I've used it in 31X10.50X15 tires that would not balance any other way and it works GREAT. GOOD LUCK PHIL

You've got something wrong with the front end geometery. It may not be the steering linkage (tie rods and related linkage). Your truck has Twin I-beam suspension and I'm not sure how the steering knuckles are attached to the I-beams (either ball joints or king pins) but you need to take it to a reputable alignment shop and have them look at it.

BAD VIBRATION

i think i have got it figured out, when ever i pry on the pitman arm it moves up and down, and has a lot of play. i think all of the guts of the steering box is gone, so in the next day or so, i should have that changed and see what happens.
