to stack blocks or not???

i am going to add another two inches to my rear and was wondering what u guys think about stacking a two inch block onto a 4 inch Stock block. good or bad idea???

I don't think anybody here would recomend it .If you end up doing it, I would retighten the U bolts a few times.

I agree, definitely a bad idea. If you must use blocks, replacing the 4" with a 6" would be much better. The best would be to go with a lift spring or at least an add-a-leaf.

While I don't like the idea either, my 78 has 2 3" blocks on the rear axle from the P.O.. I just spent the weekend off-roading and rock climbing with it and they held up just fine. In fact, I've been driving it that way for years. You do have to make sure the u-bolts are tight. Mine were loose on one side and the rocking of the axle bent the perch on the axle tube. I tightened it down a few times and beat the heck out of it with no problems.

That being said, I plan to remove the extra block and flip the rear shackle to make up for it.
