i posted this originally in the transmission forum, i got an answer but i never got real confirmation, one guy answered and said he was pretty sure and i appreciate that but i really was looking for a 100% sure from 2 or more folks, here is the deal, you take a 460 and a 390, i know you have to have a different bellhousing for each to bolt to each engine, are the tranny sides of both of these the exact same

the transmission to bellhousing pattern is the same after 1964.
transmission input shaft length is the same but diameter and spline counts vary.
1-1/16" 10 spline is common but not universal.
