Has anyone put Recaros or other aftermarket seats in their Expedition? The leather on mine has started to show signs of aging and that's the rationization I've been waiting for. The Recaro site doesn't show brackets for the Expedition so I guess they would have to be fabricated. Any thoughts?
Might want to check out Corbeau. I have a set in my '69 Camaro. They have many styles to choose from and have brackets that will bolt right up to just about any car. Putting my GTSII's in my Camaro were as easy as unbolting the old and bolting in the new. You can see pics of them if you check the homepage in my sig. Or check your choices at www.corbeau.com Good luck!!
Probably easier, and alot cheaper to replace the leather. Factory replacements can be found on ebay, or you can go aftermarket, and pick your colors and inserts. Try http://www.katzkin.com for some interior options.
Last year I had purchased a Recaro model Style seat to replace the worn seat in my SHO. I pulled the seat when I sold the SHO and just had it installed in my 99 Lariat Supercab. Recaro makes a bracket that mounts perfectly to the original power pedestal that was under the captain's chair. The bracket kit is "0.53.8" and the fascia kit (for mounting the original captain's chair's 6 way power buttons is ""1.72.7" for LH and "2.72.7" for the RH. The install directions stated for "97-99 Explorer, Expedition, F150, Mountaineer, and Lincoln Navigator. Even though the bracket was purchased this spring, the tech note was from 1998 so it may have been the age of the documentation that caused the stopping at 1999. I believe that that the captain's chair set up in the F150 and Expedition are very similar if not identical. I am extremely pleased about the comfort, support, and adjustability of the seat. However, this is not an inexpensive proposition. Rough numbers are $1150 for the seat, $150 for bracket and then another 200-250 for install. You can also save some $"s by skipping the power features since in the F-150 install, the 6 way from the original captain's chair is maintained. I had to go for the power since the seat was initially purchased for my SHO and original power adjustments are lost when you pull the SHO seat. If you are mechanically inclined (I am not), you could probably due the install yourself.
Thanks for the info! As usual, a couple of more questions.
Are the part numbers actual Recaro parts or after-aftermarket?
I didn't expect to find fascia kits, thought I'd have to fabricate them. How do they fit/look? Pics would be GREAT if possible.
Does anyone know if the 150 floorpan is the same as the Expedition? I have seen some bracket apps for the 150 but they stopped at 2000. SHO could be correct about the stop date (at least I hope so).

Thanks again!
Yes, the parts were all from Recaro. I had to use an aftermarket kit when I had the Recaro seat installed in my SHO and while the actual bracket was fine, the seat belt mounting point required some fabrication which I was never quite 100% comfortable with. In contrast, the F150 install was much cleaner and the fascia kit looks fine. Even though I had ordered the seat locally, I was able to get a lot of information for the F-150 application from Mark Wilson at On-Track Performance (248-684-6030) http://www.on-trackperformance.com/. You might want to give him a try for ordering the Recaro seat since he seemed very knowledgable and very helpful (especially considering that I hadn't even ordered the seat from him). I would be glad to post some pictures but it will probably have to be this weekend by the time I can get to that. Does this forum allow you to post images directly into the post or do I need a hosting service?
Also, I decided to go with a black seat since it was tough to match the tan interior of my SHO. My F-150 also has a tan interior so the seat stands out but but I thought that was preferable to seats that were all tan but of different shades. Also, since I am in my vehicles by myself 99% of the time, I only went with a single drivers seat and the passenger side remained stock.
