Today I tried installing an electric fan in place of my mechanical fan. The installation didn't go well, and I've got overheating problems now, even with the mechanical fan back in place (that's a ranger forums thread....), but I also noticed that after the swap/re-swap, my Diablo Delta chip (from Motorhaven) no longer works; that is, when its switch is in the "on" position and the truck is in park, I've still got the rev limiter in place whereas before I didn't.
Any ideas on how I could've fried the thing? I disconnected the negative cable from my battery during all work performed....
Without being there to see the work performed I can't say. First thing, take the switch and cable off of it and start it, then let me know what happens.
