did rp in mine and changed out the rear diff cover to the new ford cast alum finned cover paid $28.00 from the dealer. it looks great and should keep the diff cooler.
2000 limited owners manual calls for for dyno in the rear housing and syn. in the front...
while brand loyality isn't bad, any lube that meets mfg spec should be ok to use...
some time ago i saw test results that had supra-tech syn motor oil rated as a best buy... you can be sure that same oil comes in cans with other lables on them... price has no bearing what so ever on it...
i use mobil one products and like them... i like them because i have never had a oil related problem while using them and am comfortable with them, price isn't a issue
Anyone else make a change to the larger capacity covers?
I'm wondering because years ago when Volvo was owned by Volvo, my brother's V6 GLE took something like 7 or 8 quarts/litres of oil! For some reason that manufacturer thought it was worthwhile. Maybe it was because they advertised back then that the average owner kept their Volvo for 17-years!!!
