just had the front end of my 97 f-250(twin I beam) aligned. sears said i need new camber bushings for proper alignment. Just wondering if there is anything i need to look at for wear. the bushings dont wear so i figure something on the truck has to have some wear inorder for the alignment to be off. what should i do??? put in the bushings or find the real problem. any input is appreciated!
It is normal to need to change the bushings now and then. I would ask that the current before repaires alignment readings be shown to me, then shown to me afterwords to see that the work produced the readings needed.
When I had my truck aligned they had to change the one on the passenger side cause it was froze up. Everyone I know with this type of truck has had to have them changed when they get an alignment. I would opt for the lifetime alignment so that you can go back every 6 months and get it checked out and corrected if needed. I had mine done at Firestone for $70 and read all the fine print to make sure they would honor the lifetime alignment on a lifted truck. The alignment was $70 bushings were $36 a side but I only needed 1 so total was about $110.
If your Bronco is lifted then to change the cam bushings is going to be normal as the angle of your suspension will change, how ever something that might have been over looked is ball joint wear, or wheel bearings loose, as both will cause an alignment difference.
took truck to another shop today. got front end aligned and new tires. general ameritrac 235 85 r16 total for everything just under $500. said bushing didnt need replaced. drives great. better watch out if you take something to sears yourself thanks

YOU R CORRECT I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN YOUR POST EARLIER. I went to sears one time and they said i needed a new shim and it would cost big $$$. didn't have it done but later i went to another shop and inquired about it and they said what? never heard of it. so they aligned it fine!
