ok, so far my 02 has K&N FIPK gen2, exhaust, ele. fans, hypertech programer, and 4.10 gears. now i'm stuck between nitrous works EFI kit for $450 bucks or gibson stainless steel headers for $480. Or i could get the Mass and a TB spacer for around $440. so far i've spent around 1400 bucks to make it go faster, the gears are the last thing i did to it and i noticed NO change what-so-ever at the dragstrip but i re-programmed it and it seems a lil better now(havent gone back to the track yet) what is everybody elses thoughts, i can't afford a blower so that is out of the question thanks in advance
yea, the gears should get you out of the hole and into your power band much faster.
your comparing apples to oranges though, headers will give u the same gain all the time as you drive the truck, the nitrous iwll only help youon the track when you spray it ... so it kinda depends on if u care how it drives all the time, or only how much you change your et at the track. the nitrious will undoubtably make you faster at the track.
I have a 02 f150 5.4 4x4 with a powerdyne blower running 11psi, headers, full dual exhaust and an intercooler. When I installed the blower I noticed a big jump In power
but I just had It on the dynojet yesterday and It only made 250hp at 4500 rpm & 304lbs of torque, I think Its time for a twin turbo setup!
hmm, that sounds like something might be wrong ... i should expect more power then that. Did they do any tuning to it? Did you do any work to your transmission? (i assume automatic) Maybe its slipping?
The air/fuel was nearly perfect until 4900 rpm then It went lean but the motor was really dropping off In power at 4700 so that wouldnt matter. As for the transmission,
It Is an automatic and Its bone stock but theres only 20k on the truck, I hope Its not slipping, that could be spendy!
yea, just sounds a little lower then i would have expected. truck driveline sucks up a lot of power i guess. i would go for a hi line pressure valve to firm up the tranny alittle bit. might make a big difference in seat of the pants speed.
