Question Anyone ever do a "link" suspension?

Been reading through my old Fourwheeler magazines and ran across a few 3link and 4 link suspensions. Anyone ever done one of these to their trucks? How compllicated is a system to fab? I'd like to learn as much about these as possible, so if you know of any websites or have any pictures I'd like to see them.

I'd like to eventually do it on my f-250.. Mainly to make it ride better, and give it a bit more flex.. Unfortionatly, it takes a good many calculations, and fab skill to make it work. goto http://www.pirate4x4.com. The forums over there have a lot of info on making them..

Zeus,

That formual totally boggled my mind. Way too much info to start reading at midnight after playing pool all night! One of these days I might have to figure out if I can run a 4 link on the front an back of my pickup. Anyone have pictures of a 4 link set-up on the front of a pickup? Thanks

The free email address explains alot. Guess I'll hafta use my ISP one. Thanks

That looks way too complicated for me! I wouldn't be scared to do it if I had anyone that had a clue of how to build it right helping me. I want it to be safe to drive! hehe

But dang that bronco can flex!

the problem is, that to build a good 4link, you have to calculate many, many things. Like anti-squat/squat and a bunch of other things that make my head hurt.

I wish that there was a 4x4 shop in South Dakota that did this kind of work. I think there might be one out in Rapid City area but that is 12 hours away from me

This is probably a dumb question. How do you know how much lift you are getting when you create a 4 link suspension? Say you want a 4" lift, do you make the perches for the links 4" from the frame? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I am seriously wanting to do this suspension on my pickup.
