Break In Time

what is the break in time for a new diesel? I am picking up a truck and will drive it back to california where i am stationed. what is the do's and don't's of a new diesel?

Break in before using a trailer is 1,000 miles, which I have seen other posts in here that are quoting the manual. My mechanic has told me that diesel engines really do not get broken in until 40,000 or 50,000 miles.

cool thanks. he will not be towing a trailer back. just didn't know about how far to drive and at what speed. i know with our gas F250 for the first 1000 miles you weren't supple to go over 55mph
