Ford Increases F-150 PU Incentive
DETROIT, May 27, 2004; Reuters reported that Ford has increased cash rebates on one version of its F-series pickup trucks by $500 to $2,500 to cut inventories of unsold vehicles, a spokesman said Thursday.
Consumers buying the F-150 regular cab pickup with no rear seat will get the extra cash through this upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend, which is one of the strongest auto sales periods of the year, Ford spokesman Jim Cain said.
Earlier this month, General Motors raised cash rebates to consumers on many of its mid-size and full-size sport utility vehicles by $500 to $4,000.
Large incentives are expected to increase vehicle sales about 4 percent for the month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 17.0 million or more, analysts said.
hopefully the rebates will be increasing to $2000 back on SuperCrews and maybe the finance rates will go down as well. My truck is being built the week of the 7th. I talked to my dealer today and they dont have any new info as of yet but he said they get changes in all of the time, not just at the beginning of the month.
I'm with you jzarwell. My Lariat SCAB is being built now and should be at my dealer at the end of June. I'm hoping for some good rebates at that time. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
I just heard that Ford is NOT taking any more orders for the 2004 F-150 from my salesman. He suspects the rebate will increase another $500 (at least) on June 1st, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. With the high gas prices, I wouldn't be shocked if the rebates keep going up through the summer to deplete the 2004 stock.
Time will tell, Good luck to all! I am picking up my Lariat SCAB in late July after returning from duty overseas.
