I have a 99 V10 with 82000 miles on it....if it sits for a day or more, when I crank it over, it starts, then hesitates for just a second then fires right up.
I dont have to restart it, it sounds more like a after market cam installed....it almost dies and then runs great...
I noticed that if I plug in the engine heater it wont do it....
After I have started it for the day all other starts are fine, and if I start it daily I dont seem to notice it either...
My guess is it sounds like the fuel pump takes just a second to fully kick in... any idea's guys
Mine was doing the same thing, I had to hold the accel. pedal down to keep it running. It started doing it out the blue the other day. I removed the IAC (idle air control) and it was all carboned up. I bought a can of brake cleaner from walmart and hosed it down real good inside. Truck starts right up now, no problems, and idles better for that matter. Took 20 minutes from start to finish. Replacing it would have cost $70.
Brake cleaner completely evaporates afterwards leaving no residue. Carb and choke cleaner is almost the same thing. They both remove varnish and carbon. The can says Brake Cleaner, but if you read the applications section of the can, it has 101 uses.
i use brake clean for cleaning almost anything also, but i was thinking fouling o2 sensors and the like. and i read about the butterfly valve sticking due to exhaust recirc gases leaving deposits
