86- 6.9L Ignition swtich delay
I've just noticed the past few mornings when I turn the ignition to start up the engine, that there is about a 1-2 second delay before I can hear a click then the starter motor engages the engines and starts it up. Normally my ignition switch will pop off the engine with no delays. Is the starter solenoid on the fender going out? You guys have been very helpful keeping the F-250 on the road... thanks

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 08-Jun-01 AT 09:57 PM (EST)[/font][p]Hi Wayne, before you start replacing parts, try cleaning all connections to starter, solenoid, battery and ground. You may get lucky. All it takes is a dirty connection or two to slow you down. I cleaned the connections on the ol' 60, and the starter cranks over faster now.
