Each trailer needs to be level when towed, so you may need all three! Also, the ball size is stamped on the trailer's coupler.

I do some heavy towing so I utilize a heavy duty receiver. I have an adjustable pintle hitch mounting plate that allows for many trailer heights. I have a pintle hitch which also has a tow ball on it. I never use the pintle hitch, just the tow ball. In fact, the tow ball is exchageable for all three different sizes of *****. This lets me tow all types of trailer and accomodate any trailer ball size.

These ones are from Draw-Tite (http://www.draw-tite.com/). I'm not sure if the mounting plate can be utilized upside down to raise the ball, I only use it to lower the ball.
