hello, i did two thing to aid keeping window crank in place. one was to repace the handle set screw with an allen head end making tighting easier. ifyou still have a problem with handle falling off, drill 1/8 hole in regular shaft were your handle set screw could go into.

Make sure the handle is pushed on far enough before the set screw is snugged up. Maybe use a hand file to put a "nose" on the end of the set screw to help it bite on the shaft. After you're sure there's no grease/oil in the set screw threads and thread path, use some loctite or similar product to ensure that the set screw isn't loosening out on its own. Suggest you try these before adopting any irreversible remedies.

i ground the set screw to a taper on the end.i also noticed that the teeth inside the handle were rounded and mishapen and wasn`t allowing the crank to slip onto the shaft deep enough.i used my dremel and a small ball bur to clean out the grooves between the teeth.problem solved.the allen screw and locktite are both great ideas that i`ll put to use a.s.a.p.thanks for your help......wayne
