Mods

I'm going to list the mods I have on my truck right now, Ken, and I was hoping you could tell me if any of them will not work well with the tuner coming out soon for the 2003 F150 5.4L.

Borla cat back exhaust.
Shorty Gibson headers.
K&N FIPK.
Granatelli Mass Air Flow Sensor, 90mm.
6 inch lift, 35x12.50x16 tires.

Will any of those 5 things not work right with the tuner?

Also, I've asked before and didnt receive an answer... can I preorder the tuner so that the moment you get them in stock, I am gauranteed one heading my way?

Are you talking about the Diablo Predator? Should not be a problem, but you will need to get a dyno pull with the Predator installed with the MAF sensor. The dyno pull needs to include air/fuel ratio graphs. Then use the Predator to adjust the air/fuel ratio. Yes, give us a call and we can pre-order it for you, plus give special pricing.

Yes, I was talking about the Diablo Predator. I dont have the new MAF installed or even ordered yet, I was just thinking about getting it. I'd rather not have to "custom tune" my truck, so I'm trying to stick with mods that dont make me tune the Predator differently than stock.

I guess I've got four questions now...

#1 - All my mods, without the MAF, would be fine with the Predator at stock? My problem is there isn't a dyno anywhere near me, I dont even know if there is one up here in Alaska or not, so I can't really go that route.

#2 - The new Diablo Predator for the F150 reads error codes, right?

#3 - It will adjust your speedo for larger size tires/gears in the differential?

#4 - The highest octane I have here in Alaska is 90... I can select the 91 octane setting and then decrease the timing until it doesn't ping? Or the 87 and increase the timing until it starts? Or is it not worth using the Predator if I dont have access to 91 octane?

Thanks for all your help.

1. Yes they fine.
2. All Predators read error codes.
3. Yes.
4. Yes, either way. Its probably worth it, colder air allows you to run with lower octane fuel.

All right, thanks, that is what I wanted to hear... I'll probably be calling you guys up on Monday and pre-ordering the tuner for my truck.

I didn't know that about colder air allowing you to use lower octane fuel. That would be nice, it never gets above 70 here, and I'm going to fix up my K&N system so that it pulls directly from the wheel well like the stock system did, hopefully making it pull cooler air than it is now, so I should have good luck with the 90 octane.

If nothing else, I'd like it for the speedo calibration and the error code reading. Not to mention the new feature it should have
