Removing Headlight and Wiper Switch *****

I've gotta get my instrument cluster out and install some new bulbs so I can see it better at night lol.I have gotten the screws out to remove the bezel, but the ***** for the headlight and wiper switch won't come off.I've tried tugging on them lightly, but I didn't want to break anything,so I backed off.Is there a certain way that you have to take these things off??

Thanks for any insight.

There's a release button on the switch which releases the shaft and **** together. Search under there. Wiper is probably the same, but not sure.

On my 84 f250 the ***** are held on to the shaft by a metal friction tang. Both ***** should have a small notch in them. Take a small, thin bladed screw driver or punch, insert it into the slot, and then pull the screw driver toward you. This should release pressure on the tang and the ***** should slide off.

That's what worked.I got out there and started looking and noticed those slots.I grabbed my flathead screwdriver and pulled it towards the seat. They came right off.

All of the bulbs are now replaced.Maybe I can see a little better when driving at night from now on .

Thanks for the help guys.
