Look to the right of, and below the brake booster, it goes in through the firewall...that's where the front of it is...you should see a rectangular connector with a bunch of wires going into it.
next to the emergency brake peddle, remove the plastic kick panel and its in next to the fender, look to the left of the peddle. small silver box about 5"x10"
yeah, i tore my whole dash apart looking for that sucker. imagine that...lol...anyway, i found it where they are telling you. Personally I think its the absolute worst place for the damned thing. Couldn't they have located it up higher and sealed it up better? At least filled the box with resin so seal out the elements...jeez
Thanks a million, guys.
I'll see if I can find it tonight after work.
Any "Helpful Hints" to getting at that sucker????
or any problems you guys have had with 'em?
Just remove that plastic fender well...you can reach it from the wheel well, unbolt it and take the plug off, then just pull the computer out. You must remove the plastic fender to pull it out, but you may or may not be able to reach from under the hood.
I can get mine out in about 5 minutes pulling from under the hood LOL. I just remove the screws attaching the fender well , disconnect the battery , remove the three 10mm bolts that attach the wiring harness and support bracket to the computer. Once this is done just use the wooden end of a hammer and pry down on the fender liner to give you enough room to slide the computer out.
